Do You Have the Faith for Answered Prayer?

In life we pray for God to answer our prayers. We often find ourselves wondering if God has heard our prayer once we have left the altar. To be honest I find myself sometimes leaving the altar carrying the same burden I just prayed about. Often I am praying for healing, clarity, focus, direction, continued purpose and much more.
Prayer is an intricate part of my spiritual and physical life. Faith is also key in my day to day life and it allows me to move and function through the unknowns that life can throw my way. The question that I have been asking myself consistently is, “Do I have the faith to receive answered prayer”. I know, this may sound crazy but let me explain.

There are things in life in which we have all the confidence in the world that you will one day achieve or reach our goal. We work daily towards that goal. We pray daily for God to direct our path towards reaching that goal. All this is done by faith, but one day we wake up and without notice or warning everything you have been asking for is right infant of us. Your dreams are looking at you eye to eye, and now stepping into the very thing you have been hoping and praying for requires no more effort other than taking one more step.

One would think this is a place of happiness and joy, but we find ourselves afraid to take hold of what is now there waiting for you. What can sometimes make the situation even more difficult is when you literally just prayed for what you recieved. Within minutes, hours or days of presenting your request to God you receive an answer. I don’t know about you but sometimes I have to pinch myself and see if this is real. Am I really looking at answered prayer? We say that we know God hears our prayers but when it actually happens and you get a direct answer, it can truly be scary, intimidating and humbling experiance.

I recently was praying for healing over a loved one. I felt it in my spirit that I needed to pray and that they needed to hear my voice. I was obedient and prayed the words I was led to utter. After praying, I sat there in expectancy waiting for immediate results. When I didn’t see anything change I started to feel the doubt creep in, even though I knew it was not about my timeline but God’s. To be honest I left feeling a bit defeated wondering did I do something wrong or did I say the wrong words. Soon after I prayed I received news of my loved ones condition and it was not good at all. I am a science geek and I knew the physical chances that anything would change with the results I was given were not good. But God! Within hours I received news that the prayers that had been lifted up were answered. I literally saw a miracle. What could have taken years to happen, possibly never happen, happened in a matter of hours.

I honestly did not know what to say other than “Thank you God”. That is what it is all about (giving God the Glory) even if He doesn’t do another thing for us. I found myself in a state of shock. My faith superseded my mind said and what my eyes saw. The physical nature of things had not caught up with the spiritual and I had to pull on my faith to realize what had just happened.

I say all this to bring this point. You will pray for many things in your lifetime. When that answer comes, when that miracle happens and everyone can’t believe what has just happened, do you have the faith to realize that God truly hears you and sent your answer from heaven? I want everyone to know that God hears you. He truly knows your needs and wants. He knows your struggles and challenges. Don’t let your faith get weary in the process and get too weak to receive the very thing you have prayed for.
